WELCOME TO BCAT SWIMMING
We are a developmental/competitive swim program for children ages 5 through 18 who are interested in improving their swimming skills and participating in competitive swimming events.

BCAT is NOT a school sponsored function. It is a private, non-profit, parent-run organization. As a parent-run organization, we welcome and strongly encourage ALL parents to participate in Club activities. Parent involvement is crucial to the success of both the individual swimmer and the team.

Developmental/competitive swimming aims to constantly improve the strokes, turns, starts, techniques and times of the swimmers. In each of the strokes, swimmers work toward self-improvement and their own personal goals. Even though we compete as a team, it is the achievements of the individual swimmers that bring success to the team. Our BCAT coaches have high professional standards and strive for progress toward swimming excellence.

BCAT OBJECTIVES/PHILOSOPHY
BCAT seeks to provide opportunities for all interested Blackhawk youths to participate in an organized developmental/competitive swim program. The objectives are as follows:

to provide training and competition to all swimmers who desire it
to provide opportunities to learn sportsmanship and the importance of teamwork
to furnish a wholesome and worthwhile physical and recreational outlet
to provide opportunities to learn good health habits
to promote physical development
to instill swimmers with self-discipline, confidence & control
to provide opportunities for social & emotional development
to teach swimmers to set realistic short and long term goals and to take personal responsibility for their success and their failure
